!!!!!! Police stickers!!!!!!!
I have an old 95 crown vic that i got from an auction for $400, and i love it. I bought some badges for it that say police interceptor on them, which is the model of my car, it has p71 in the pin and that is reffered to as a police interceptor(from what i have heard and read). More recently i bought a push bumper for it, which i know is legal, but then even more recently i bought a big sticker for the push bumper that says police interceptor on it. I was just wondering if it is legal or not to have this, because i got pulled over by my campus police, and they said if i dont take it off, then the next time they see me they will arrest me for impersonating a police officer. I think its bull****, so i didnt take it off, but just to be safe can you help me out.

Could be a very successful troll...just replayed someplace else.

When I was in college, I focused my time on passing classes and getting laid. I ended up passing alot of classes.

I bet theres more to his story about "impersonating"

Nice refer video's. The only way i would ever get a cvpi other then having one given to me by an agency would be for a winter beater. It wouldnt even look like a police car. Toss the fucking spotlight, toss the pushbar, you dont need a cage, you dont need wig wags, you dont need a "working siren". I love all these whackers on ebay that try to unload their time bomb CVPI's with working lights and siren. I even saw a 90 fox body 5.0 stang from FHP with full light package working being sold by some whacker. I dont understand why people want this crap.

Seen at about 2:15pm on Green Street in Weymouth....ex-MSP Ford Bronco, still wearing the french & electric blue, doing about 45 in a 25 zone. Thin blue line front plate, with a two-plate series rear plate. Unfortunately, he blew by me too fast to get the plate number.

"Probably a Quincy DPW truck" Delta....................... HAHHAHAAA

Seen at approximately 2345 hours last Saturday night around FSC…………1998 Blue Crown Vic, spotlight, scanner, push bar, two “home made” thin blue line stickers, flashlight, gloves and seven (7) on the BOP out of Beverly.

I can’t wait till all the State College Departments merge with the State Police then I will be able to chase down guys like this all over the Commonwealth.

Naahh....they got the real-deal blue plates, no need for a stinkin' thin blue line!!

Perhaps this thread should be a sticky, so everyone can post their whacker sightings......

I am DETERMINED to snap a pic of that Maximum Emergency truck........ I have TWO cameras in my diddy bag when I go to work. Maybe it's time to keep the small one in my POV.

I keep a digital camera in my bag, which I keep in the back seat of my car. It just never occurred to me to snap pictures of whackermobiles, but I think it's a great idea.

Once we get a few, we can ask a kind mod to make the thread a sticky for us..........

We had a guy in my Aux. Dept. (Flame away for that) who outfit his personal car, (NOT a crown vic) as if it was a traffic car. MCS2000 radio, full hide-aways, dash/deck lights... Kid was nuts!

Has since been dismissed

Posted by: Sniper

I know OF a kid who had a nerf cruiser back like 10 years ago......... one weekend while he was out of town, some REAL cops crawled under his car and snipped an awful lot of wires......... kid LITERALLY cried upon his return. Full cage, seat organizer, deck lights, antennae etc............

I had a whacker sighting the other week as well.. I was driving south on RT24 home from work. I was in full uniform, when a white Dodge Intrepid pulls up on my ass, and starts tailgating.I was going about 68 - 70 MPH, and I saw that several people moved out of his way, but something just felt wrong.. I saw the spot light and the Rhino Push Bars on the front, but the driver was barely 18-20 years old.. in no uniform, and had stuff hanging from his rear view mirror... I let him tailgate for about 2 minutes and then I pulled to the left. (He was pissed at this point, because I didn't move over right away.. ) He flew right by me.. and I wasn't going to let him just go 100mph past me.. so I pulled up next to him in the left lane, and rolled down my window, and he saw that I was in uniform. He immediately stepped on the brakes and pulled into the left lane in front of me... going 60 mph... I pulled out my shitty camera phone and starting snapping away... they are not that clear, but It gives you an idea of what this whacker vehicle looks like..

Guarenteed he shit his pants when he saw me in uniform.. Little punk...

Sorry they are not that clear...

Sighted pretty much any day across from Riverbend condos in East Taunton: grey CV, pushbar, antenna array. Could be legit I guess, but its a strange tag and parked in order to be highly visible.... suspect.

In the Wellesley area some kid has an ex MSP CV, still colored in the French & Electric Blue, push bumpers, and spotlight. I'm assuming the kid might be a Babson student since the car has NY plates on it.

It wasn't Dana Hall PD, it was a young kid driving it as he got out of the car to go into the Mobil Mart on Rt 16. And it still looked like a MSP CV, just minus the decals and light bar. And it had NY plates.

A target of opportunity I saw on the way home from court this morning. It was on a one-way street, so I had to circle the block.

Posted by: Sniper

well it DOES have a TBL sticker so it HAS to be a police occifer..........

Posted by: JARCOUETTE

We have a guy in the Belchertown area that drives a blue Hyundai that has more hardware in his car then we do. A month or two ago we got a call from Longmeadow to see if your Chief had issued a blue light permit to him. There is not one cop in Belchertown that has a blue light permit, nor is there one that would want blue lights on his or her car. I can't understand these people.
There was this kid in Suffield CT that was pinched for impersonating an officer and his family calimed in the local paper that he has a mental illness that makes him want to pretend to be a police officer.
I'm not sure that CT has any more then impersonation of a public official law which is not a felony. There needs to be some hardline legislation to deter this because it seems to be a rampant problem. Whats even worse, these ass clowns are usually just slapped on the wrist and told to stand in the corner for a few and they are back to the same old BS.
Every car that I see that looks "shady" I'm snapping pics on the phone cam like a mad chinese tourist.

We've got quite a few in VT as well... one I see all the time has a Fire Dept. placard above the front plate.. ex-VSP cruiser...he's always tearing around the streets. Not to mention a few college students from MA with there blacked out CV's.

Send plate and vehicle discription to the owners home town PD or MSP. I'm sure someone has a tint meter. $250 fine is a good incentive for most to remove tint.

We can hit them with a $140 fine, plus 2 points for tint on side windows. MA tint law is still 35% max on the front sides correct?

On a car 35% on all sides except windshield and has to have 2 side mirrors. Trucks, SUV, 35% on both front drivers and passengers side, rear windows 35% or factory.

Throw the book at these clowns. Who do they think they are? I could see if an off-duty cop doing a road detail having the lights. I even considered it at one time. I do tons of road details.

Unfortunatly it has been my experience that the worst offenders are either Sherrifs or cops (usually college) off duty. Unless your working in the city's M/V there no reason to have blue lights of any kind not even for details. I'm pretty sure last time I gave 1 it was $500 for blue lights of any kind. I give that to the motorcycles that have those blue lights attached too.
If you need a cruiser for a detail the city should give you 1. I know my city has a different Rate for a detail that needs a cruiser. If you need lights for a detail it's your responsibility to get a cruiser through the Dept.

I dont have or know anyone who has lights in their pov's for details... however, not all of us are fortunate enough to have several excess cruisers in our motor pool... some departments dont even have enough for patrol, let alone for details. I would not have a problem with a LEO having the lights and using them for a detail... If he were to use them to effect vehicle stops then thats another story.

Says Kane County on the vehicles...
The look at the plate, It's a white plate with red numbers and blue top writing. about 20 states have some plate that exhibits that.
Then look at the Illinois plate, note that there is a Kane County in Il.

To that end you have to be an absolute tardass to put all that shit in your car and then videotape it.

fucking Whackers....Lets get these guys

Posted by: JARCOUETTE

Popular phrases used by most wannabe/whackers.
You will find most wannabe's and whackers are almost identical to the next one. They all suffer the same delusions and power trips. Below is a list of terms a whacker or wannabe could be found saying while trying to find excuses for their actions or behaviors. A true wannabe or whacker can not be swayed back into reality after saying these statements so it's not worth trying.
1. In my current (insert type) job, I help the police.
2. I have amber lights on my vehicle for (insert false reason here).
3. I plan on being an EMT.
4. I plan on being a LE officer or I am in the "application stages".
5. I want to install lights now for a proposed future job/task.
6. I have emergency lighting in all areas of my vehicle (although I do not require it).
7. I have been a member of more than one volunteer agency but did not fit in.
8. If the law doesn't say it's illegal, then there's nothing wrong with it. (Term commonly used with someone using tons of amber lights for no reason)

Ten questions to tell if you or someone you know is a whacker/wannabe.
1. Do you have emergency lighting equipment on your vehicle and you're not part of any fire or police department or with a professional service who authorizes the use of lights (construction, snow plows, contractors)?
2. Do you have brand new police or fire equipment just lying around that you bought or traded for?
3. Do you have more than one cop or fire fighter friend that you have nothing in common with and/or loiter in places where public safety officials hang out at themselves?
4. Do you receive public safety catalogs monthly and look at them like a porn magazine daily?
5. Do you listen to a police/fire scanner more than 12 hours a day and get an adrenaline rush whenever an exciting call is paged?
a) Do you go to calls just to "be one" with the action?
6. Do you have a membership in more than four police/fire fighter message boards and frequent them more than five times a week?
7. Do you have at least one piece of public safety equipment that you bought for the sole point that a local or your favorite department uses the same thing?
8. Do you watch reality police/fire shows and tell those around you how you would have done something differently or better?
9. Do you have a different scanner for each location you might be in for any amount of time (car, house, job, ect)?
10. Have you dreamed or talked about being on a police or fire department and either never tried or failed more than 5 times?

These questions are for those who have never been on any police/fire/safety department. If you find at least one question offensive then you have failed.
Answer yes to 6 or more questions you are a true wannabe that needs a mental check.
Answer yes to 5 questions and you had a dose of reality, but it was temporary.
Answer yes to 4 questions and you are borderline whacker. Re-evaluate your situation.
Answer yes to 3 questions and you should try harder at your current life and drop the dream.
Answer yes to 2 or less questions and fix the problem you answered yes to and live a solid life

ahhhhhh... I came across a "Wackerwagon" yesterday... Looks like he got his hands on a old CVPI that still had some equipment on it. The car is a dark blue CVPI, fully equiped with spot light, push bar tint and mass passenger plates. I've seen the kid who drives it so I know its not LE. The first time I seen this kid, he got out of his wackerwagon with BDU's on..... I'm going to snap some pics of it tomorrow..

I think I'm going to buy the domain www.WackerWagons.com and put together something special for our friends!

What is the deal with constables? Do they have any power or authority over anything?

Posted by: screamineagle

I know a constable, designed and bought his own uni, including duty belt, uses his restaraunt as his office, including constables office sign hanging on the restaraunt.

definite whacker.

I love that idiots explanation, I'm a firefighter and have use for it all...

Those are CT plates on his vehicle, correct? Their firefighters use red/blue light combo down there and not just red?

Posted by: SOT

he has red blue combo

Posted by: MM1799

Who is considered a "whacker"? I'm interested to see how broad the term is..
I know the idiots who deck the cars out with LEDs and radios and then wear BDUs to Walmart and the people who adorn their car with MPA/SPAM stickers. But what about the people who buy an old cruiser just for the price and dont drive like morons. Or the people who add an antenna to listen to the scanner, while driving, without jumping it. I've met plenty of those types who are good people and I wouldn't consider "whackers" just enthusiasts who know where the line is. Agree/disagree?

Oh and what about certain departments who change the paint on their cruisers to black & white so when I see them they look like locals but then read "Middlesex.." Are they whackers?
Oh sorry!

Posted by: SOT

Short version:
If you own an old police cruiser: YOU ARE A WHACKER
Think about it, an old police car is the last thing anyone with half a brain would want to drive.

If you have a scanner in your car and it is not for work: YOU ARE A WHACKER
WTF is the point? It's not like that crap is all that entertaining, and if it is to you.....YOU ARE A WHACKER

Posted by: kwflatbed

I have to disagree SOT not everyone is a wacker who drives a Crown Vic.
I know a good number of PO's who drive Crown Vics for personal vechicles
that were ex cruisers.
Most were low miliage government cars in excelent shape, most of them
never had light bars or markings on them and came with maintance records.
These vechicles can be bought at auction at a resonable price these are not
not the e-Bay specials but good dependable vechicles.
I have bought and sold many of these from the auctions to PO's,and security
companies.
I mainly attened the auctions and buy for a dealer out of AK who refits them and
sells them to small PD's that cannot afford new.

Some Fire departments in Mass use red and blue combo also... the blue must be displayed on the Rear of fire dept. vehicles.

Oh... and I'll fourth M1799!

This guy has blue lights in his front grill, that's why I was asking. Just didn't know if that was permissible. The red/blue combo in rear would seem to be OK.

Pretty sweet car, but why would any non-LEO get it and pay extra for the lights?

Why not get one without the police package if they are not LEOs?

Did I miss something?

Working for a security company in 2002, had a supervisor who lived in CT and would drive across the state border to work at my site. He was a volunteer firefighter in CT and had a full blue light bar on top of his ford bronco II with a pushbar with some more blue lights in the grill. He was always in full uniform complete with the smokey hat he was given everytime I was him driving in Mass. When I asked him about why he had it, he stated that it was legal for vol. fighters in CT to have them. He's been stopped by cops in Mass all the time because he has a quick temper and drives way too fast all the time. He states mass cops just let him go since he has a legitimate reason to have a full blue lightbar on top of his truck. Just my little ultimate whacker story I wanted to share.

What are those used for, does anyone know? Are they just for show?

Posted by: Danman

from Fitchburg PD website

"Citizens on Patrol is comprised of members of our community who volunteer a minumum of 4 hours per week to patrol our community. The members of Citizens on Patrol (COP) patrol schools, shopping plazas, parks, and playgrounds while serving as extra "eyes and ears" of our department. They do not confront anyone while on duty, instead they report their observations to Fitchburg Police dispatch for appropriate follow-up. The Citizens on Patrol operate a refurbished police vehicle that while giving the appearance of a patrol car, is distinct from Fitchburg Police Department patrol vehicles. The vehicle is equipped with a radio and a cell-phone for communication with dispatch. Members wear a distinct uniform and carry an ID for identification purposes. While on duty, they follow instructions of the Patrol Division Officer-in-Charge."

Sounds almost like Auxiliary Police, but just stops short in a few ways. Hey, if it makes the community feel better, more power to them I guess.

Volunteer fireman...the blue light is supposed to be of limited candlepower (like a small dashboard incandescent rotator) but because these departments are politically powerful, they have better lightbars than a lot of police departments. Anyway, red lights for police and fire, blue lights for volunteer firemen (in NYS).

Yes, they are still whackers.

Wacker:

A person, who is in the Fire, EMS, or Police service, or one who badly wants to be apart of such service. A wacker always has the latest gear, the "coolest" shirts and plenty of stickers on his car. Wackers often overdoo everything, such as lights, sirens, or expensive equipement. These items are almost always paid out-of-pocket, as no organization can justify that much wasted spending. Wackers are most commonly between the agest of 14 and 30, and are usually trying to show off to others, how "cool" they are for being a Firefighter, EMT, Police officer, or for wanting to be one of the above. A Wacker can often be found with their radio turned way up, so that everyone can hear it from a mile radius, or sitting around their local headquarters trying to catch any scrap of action going on in any of the surrouding districts.

Wacker vs. Dedicated Employee

Wacker vs. Dedicated Employee
  • A wacker spends all his/her free time at the fire house.
  • A dedicated employee works his shifts, and signes up for all the extra shifts he can for extra $$$
  • A wacker visits the local firehouse on vacation, to see how they do things and to trade/buy shirts or patches a dedicated employee can visit a firehouse not in their area to learn how another organziation operates, in hopes of improving his/her organization a wacker puts FF/EMS stickers all over his car
  • A dedicated employee puts IAFF stickers on his/her car, so show he supports the union he is proud to be a member of
  • a wacker takes every firefighting course he can, in hopes of one day becoming a career firefighter.
  • A dedicated employee takes every FF course he can, so he can do the job to the best of his ability.
  • a wacker will purchase a leather helmet because it makes him look cool, even though the department issues salad bowls
  • a dedicated employee will purchase a leather helmet out of his uniform allowance, even though the department issues salad bowls.
  • A wacker will wear a firefighting-related novely shirt when not on duty. dedicated employees would never do anything like this a wacker will wear his department t-shirt/job shirt in school, work, while shopping for groceries, at the mall, etc.
  • A dedicated employee will wear his department t-shirt/job shirt while at fire school, on the job, when with the crew shopping for groceries, and I did see one FDNY guys in his FDNY job shirt (with station number) and hat in Victoria's Secret shopping with his girlfriend, but I'm sure he's the exception to the rule.
  • A wacker is proud to show off that he is a member of a FD or EMS squad.
  • A dedicated employee comes to work early, leaves late, and keeps his work and the rest of his life seperate.
  • A wacker has a closet full of FD t-shirts from all over the US, some purchased, some traded for, some obtained as gifts.
  • A dedicated employee has a closet full of shirts, mainly of his department, but a few obtained through trades.
  • A wacker aspires to be as good as (insert big city FD name here, be it FDNY, LAFD, Syracuse FD for those from upstate NY, Chicago FD, DCFD, PG County FD, etc), or even the neighboring 24/7 paid department.
  • A dedicated employee aspires to be as good as (insert big city FD name here, be it FDNY, LAFD, Syracuse FD for those from upstate NY, Chicago FD, DCFD, PG County FD, etc). and the biggest difference (also edited to because people seem to be misinterpretting the statement): if a non-paid firefighter does one of the above mentioned things, he is considered a wacker if a paid firefighter does the same thing he is considered a proud and dedicated employee just some random thoughts edited to add: What some people consider to be a trait of a (volunteer) whacker, and what some people consider to be a trait of a dedicated (career) employee are sometimes very similar. but because people look at career guys and volunteers differently, the same "event" or "description" can be used to form a different opinion about someone. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed that too, or was it just me.
Yeah. What he said.

Whacker Special For Sale

AP - Mon Apr 2, 4:32 PM ET

An April 5, 1985 file photo David Hasselhoff, star of NBC's series, 'Knight Rider,' points to the back of the his car, KITT. The flame-throwing, river-jumping, talking muscle car from the 1980s TV show is up for sale. Restored to its debut-season glory, the modified black 1982 Pontiac Trans Am is offered at $149,995 at a Dublin, Calif., auto dealership.

DUBLIN, Calif. - KITT, the flame-throwing, river-jumping, talking muscle car from the `80s TV show "Knight Rider," is up for sale. Restored to its debut-season glory, the modified black 1982 Pontiac Trans Am is offered at $149,995 at a Dublin auto dealership. Johnny "Vette" Verhoek of Kassabian Motors has had the car, officially called Knight Industries Two Thousand, on display for about a month.
It is one of four documented "camera cars" used for close-up shots and scenes where David Hasselhoff, who played Michael Knight in the series, was behind the wheel.
Although it cannot achieve the 300 mph speeds that KITT reached, soar 50 feet in the air or throw smoke bombs, key features of the star car are intact. Perhaps most important, the red scanner light on the nose glows and makes a humming noise.
The car has two working video screens on the dashboard, and the cockpit features buttons that light up in green, yellow and red: ski mode, rocket boost, micro jam, silent mode, oil slick and eject.
Most of the buttons don't do anything, Verhoek said. Nor can the car hold a conversation or drive itself.
KITT isn't even street legal because of missing smog equipment and other modifications. Whoever buys the car will probably keep it in a private collection, or it may be purchased by a museum, Verhoek said.
The car belongs to Tim Russo of Livermore, a Kassabian customer who figured now was a good time to test the market, with the 25th anniversary of the show's debut coming up.
Russo purchased the car 10 years ago at an auction in San Diego, and has spent the last decade finding parts to restore it.

This would have been a funny call to respond to

Wannabe cop faces shoplift charge
By Elaine Allegrini, Enterprise staff writer
ABINGTON — Police say they nabbed a local “Dog the Bounty Hunter” wannabe shoplifting at Wal-Mart.

The suspect, a Holbrook man, was wearing a fully equipped police duty belt with an air gun that looked like a handgun. He was carrying pepper spray, a collapsible baton, handcuffs and a folding knife, police said.

Around his neck, the suspect wore a badge identifying him as a federal fugitive enforcement officer that police said had no meaning whatsoever.

“He carries more stuff than I do on my police belt,” said Deputy Police Chief Christopher Cutter.

Cutter likened the suspect to Duane “Dog” Chapman, the real-life bounty hunter who has a popular television show.

The deputy chief said the equipment, especially the handgun look-alike, posed a danger because it might have caused police to react.

Cutter identified the suspect as Christopher W. Feehan, 28, of 6 Washington Circle, Holbrook.

Cutter said Feehan fought with Wal-Mart security guards who tried to apprehend him as he allegedly walked out of the store with an amplifier and two blue-tooth headsets valued at $177.

The security guards and Feehan were engaged in a struggle on the floor in the front of the store when Sgt. Scott Saccoach responded to the call Thursday.

“He commented to the officers that he wasn't a bail enforcement officer, but he was trying to break into the business,” Cutter said.

This was the second time Feehan was charged with shoplifting, Cutter added.

Please... tell me that's not real.

.....speechless.

The best part of doing my job is when I come in counter with a(n) disorderly party!

When I encounter an EDP, or when I come in contact with....oh, nevermind.
Strange...I consider that the worst part of my job. Oh well, guess I'll never be able to walk the streets of civil capias danger.

Oh, and the special forces section. Nice touch. Gives it that extra "I pick fights in a bar" creepiness.

The dopes base their "civil division unit" in Ayer, then dork Justin has a picture of himself next to an Ayer PD cruiser with the caption;

Taken During An Ayer Police Miscounduct Investigation With IPS a While

Then for good measure, he adds a comment to his own picture which reads;

Just to piss off the APD Than and Now! LOL

I hope the APD is aware of these peckerheads?

He also needs to learn how to spell "Massachusetts";
