FORT WORTH, Texas --
A Fort Worth police officer was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in a marked patrol car.
Burleson police said Officer Clinton Wyatt, 32, passed out behind the wheel of his patrol car at a stoplight in the 100 block of Burleson Boulevard at about at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, about nine hours after his shift ended.
Wyatt refused to perform a sobriety check and was released on a $1,000 bond, police said.
Wyatt got off duty at 6 p.m. Saturday and was traveling to his residence at the time of the arrest, Fort Worth police said.
Wyatt has been with the Fort Worth Police Department for five years.
He has been placed on restricted duty and is not allowed to carry a badge or gun pending the outcome of an investigation, Fort Worth police said.
Fort Worth Police Internal Affairs is investigating the administrative case. Fort Worth police said Johnson County, where the arrest occurred, will have jurisdiction over any criminal charges that are filed.
