HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — Authorities say a 36-year-old man has been charged with having sex with a young girl in a video believed to have been filmed five years ago. A police report says Matthew Kent Sheley was arrested Friday on a charge of sexual performance by a child. Jail records show Sheley is also being held on 11 counts of possession of photographs of sexual performance by a child. An unidentified person, believed to be five years old, found the tape in Sheley's former home, the Sun-Sentinel.com reported. Sheley's face was not seen in the videotape. Authorities say he was identified as the adult in the videotape based on unique markings on his body, police said. Investigators are searching for the girl, who would be 12 to 14. The video was apparently taken when the girl was 7 to 9 years old and shows the girl performing sex acts on a man. The victim on the video has a brown kidney-shaped birthmark on her left interior forearm, the Sun-Sentinel.com reported. Police said there may be other victims during the 10 years he lived in south Broward, the Webs ite reported. A jail official didn't know if he has an attorney. Anyone with information about Sheley or the victim is asked to call Hallandale Beach police Detective Rafael Matias at 954-457-1432 or 954-457-1400, FDLE Special Agent Terry Mullen at 954-958-5400, or Broward County CrimeStoppers anonymously at 954-493-8477.
