Position 1: LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Salary: $45,361 - $61,002

Requirements:
The applicant must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age.
The applicant must possess:
  • A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college, or
  • (4) years Law Enforcement experience and at least 60 credits from an accredited college, or
  • (4) years military police experience and at least 60 credits from an accredited college
In addition, the applicant must:
  • Have acceptable scores on the TABE and BAT tests.
  • Not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement.
  • Not have been discharged from any of the Armed Forces of the United States under dishonorable conditions.
  • Have his fingerprints on file with the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission or an agency designated by the Commission. (The Coral Springs Police Department will forward these prints to the agency.)
  • Be of good moral character as determined through the use of a background investigation under the procedures established by the Commission.
  • Submit to a drug analysis of urine sample.
  • Possess a valid drivers license at the time of application and throughout the course of employment.
  • Successfully pass a medical examination by a licensed physician based on specifications established by the Commission.
  • Position 2: LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINEE

    Job Description: The Trainee position provides the opportunity for non-certified recruits to become certified Law Enforcement Officers. Upon initial employment with the Coral Springs Police Department, the Trainee assists in various police-related, non-enforcement activities, while under the direction of a sworn Law Enforcement Officer. Candidates who successfully perform their assigned duties are sent to the Police Academy by the Department to become certified Officers.
    Requirements:
    The applicant must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age.
    The applicant must possess:
    • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college, or
    • Associates Degree from an accredited college, plus (4) years of military experience.
    The Law Enforcement Trainee applicant must also meet the additional requirements outlined above for Law Enforcement Officers.
    Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
