Butt slap leads to 45-day suspension

DENVER, March 29 (UPI) -- A Denver sheriff's deputy has been slapped with a 45-day suspension for slapping another deputy's buttocks, an incident that prompted the co-worker to quit.

While Deputy Francisco Hernandez reportedly resigned after having his rear-end whacked, attorney Derek W. Cole has called Deputy Bobby Rogers' subsequent suspension an over-reaction, The Rocky Mountain News said Saturday.

"It's gross overkill," Cole said. "It's like executing somebody for blowing their nose and not washing their hands."

The incident occurred Aug. 30, 2007, when Hernandez bent to pick up some keys only to be "slapped hard on the buttocks" by Rogers, city documents said.

"If you're going to stick it out, I'm going to hit it," Rogers allegedly said after the hit, according to documents.

Rogers' version of the incident changed during interviews, while Hernandez's version remained constant, prompting authorities to impose the suspension.

wow, maybe Hernandez is a little insecure in his sexuality or something. 45 day suspension is a real big bu11sh*t suspension there.

Rogers is lucky that Hernandez didn't knock out a couple o' teeth for the offending slap & the comment. Rogers is also lucky he got a 45 day hit instead of A&B charges lodged against him. Couple of tinker bells if you ask me. Hernandez probably quit and will sue for emotional damages, distress & sexual dysfunction and make a boatload of $$. Stay tuned, this story isn't over yet.
