BRAINTREE — Two men are facing armed robbery charges after a gas station holdup in which one of them allegedly displayed a hypodermic syringe telling the attendant that it contained AIDS-tainted blood. Raymond Smith, 19, of Quincy and Adam M. Daton, 22, of Weymouth, were arrested Thursday shortly after the Supershine station and car wash on Quincy Avenue was robbed, Deputy Police Chief Russell Jenkins said. Smith allegedly approached the attendant at about 6 p.m. while Dalton waited in a green minivan. Smith lured the attendant to a remote area of the gas station claiming that he had driven his vehicle over an embankment and needed help, then showed the syringe and demanded the man’s money, Jenkins said. The attendant described the minivan to officers, and police in Quincy spotted and stopped it a short time later. The attendant identified Smith as the man who had robbed him, Jenkins said.
