The arrest of an Ashland man Wednesday on child pornography charges has led to the arrest of a New Hampshire man on similar charges, authorities said.
Dominic Pace, 27, was arrested at his Greenville, N.H., home Thursday, according to a statement released by the New Hampshire State Police.
His arrest followed an investigation by the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's office. State police contacted Greenville Police and the Hillsborough County Attorney's office about its investigation.
Pace was arrested the day after Lonny Waite, 48, of 1 Newcastle Road, Ashland, was arrested on pornography charges.
"This arrest (of Pace) is the result of the continuing investigation that led to the arrest in Ashland, and now of this defendant," said Middlesex district attorney spokesman Corey Welford.
Massachusetts investigators believe Pace sent Waite pornographic photos, Welford said.
Pace was charged with possession of child pornography and providing child pornography. He was ordered held on $500,000 bail after his Milford, N.H., District Court arraignment yesterday.
Waite was arrested Wednesday after Port St. Lucie County, Fla., Sheriff's office Detective Neil W. Spector began investigating Waite on Feb. 11, the prosecutor said.
Spector said Waite sent him an electronic photo of a 5-year-old girl performing a sexual act.
Florida officials obtained two warrants that each charged Waite with the transmission of child pornography by electronic means.
They contacted the Massachusetts State Police, who worked with the Ashland Police Department, prosecutor David Clayton said. They obtained a search warrant for Waite's 1 Newcastle Road home, and it was served Wednesday at 5:10 p.m.
Clayton said police found several computers that contained several photographs of children clearly younger than 16 performing sex acts.
Waite, a software manager at a brokerage firm in Burlington, was charged with distribution of a child in a sexual act, distribution of obscene material and two counts of possession of child pornography.
He was released on $30,000 bail and is due back in Framingham District Court next month.
