MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Police in Manchester are searching for a man who apparently tried to abduct a 9-year-old girl as she walked to her school bus stop.
The girl told police a man standing next to a white van in a parking lot called her over Thursday morning and asked her to help find a puppy in the vehicle. She reported that when she told the man she didn't see a puppy, he grabbed her arm. She said she pulled away and ran to the bus stop, where other youngsters were waiting.
Administrators at Weston Elementary School informed parents and guardians by sending letters home with students.
