MIDDLEBORO —
Middleboro police are on the lookout for two men who tried to grab two children Thursday night.
According to police the 10-year-old girls were approached at Elm and Courtland Street just before 7 p.m. when a black extended cab truck with tinted windows stopped and the driver reportedly said, "come with us."
The girls ran and the truck sped off on Oak Street.
Officer Robert B. Rullo Jr. said the driver was described as having a silver-capped tooth, gray hair, a long beard and wearing a ring that looked like an eagle. The girls said the driver was smoking what may have been a cigar.
The girls said the truck had three amber lights on the top, key scratches along the driver's side and two white bumper stickers.
The school department sent out a phone alert to student's parents advising caution when walking alone.
Rullo said parents should take the incident seriously and anyone with information related to the vehicle should call police at 508-947-1212.
