BRAINTREE —
Two Braintree men and a Quincy man have been arraigned in Quincy District Court for selling drugs in Braintree.
Daniel Keneally, 19, and John F. Reardon, also 19, both of Braintree, and Joseph P. Clifford, 21, of Quincy, have pleaded innocent to charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate state drug laws.
Police said the three men were spotted acting suspiciously at the South Shore Plaza prior to their arrests Monday.
Detectives Jeffrey Jernegan and Michael Reynolds first noticed them sitting in an Oldsmobile Cutlass at the Sheraton Hotel across the street from the shopping center.
The suspects did not appear to have any legitimate business in the parking lot and soon drove across the street to the plaza, police said.
Keneally got out of the car near the Legal Seafood restaurant.
The detectives then stopped the car and questioned Reardon and Clifford, who was driving.
An odor of marijuana was the vehicle, police said.
Clifford allegedly admitted to carrying a couple of bags of marijuana, police said.
Police removed two sandwich bags of marijuana from his pants pocket, which also contained 35 smaller bags of marijuana and one bag containing a larger quantity.
Keneally, who was found inside the mall, had 11 more bags of marijuana and $423 in cash, police said.
During a search of the car, police said they found two small bags of marijuana in the glove box.
Following their arraignments, Keneally, Reardon and Clifford were released on personal recognizance and told to return to court June 24.
