Just wanted to know if anyone had any info on their department. I received a call from them yesterday and I am unsure if I should call back. I tried doing some research on them, but couldnt find much. Any info. would be appreciated.

I'd call them back if I were you. Police jobs....ANY police jobs, are scarce enough in this state. Don't limit your options by not returning a phone call.

Delta is right on the money.

The worse job you can pass up might be the only job you're offered. Grab it, run with it and see where it takes you. It might turn out that you like it. If you don't, you just keep taking those paychecks until the next potential job comes along.

True I appreciate the advice. Its just that I am currently with a PD (BSP) and didint know anything about MassBay. Just wanted to know if it was worth it.

I would say that Mass Bay CC is a lot more relaxed environment, and you can move out of Boston if you get the job. Both retirement systems (state & Boston) will transfer to almost any public sector police job, so that's a wash.

You're probably the only one who can say if it's worth it.

True I guess I will go to the interview and check them out myself. Its just my luck with getting on any of the major colleges have been slim to none.

Yeah you know I have gotten a few interviews before with some of the semi-major colleges if thats what you want to call them Brandeis, Wentworth but to no avail.

I am greatfull for my current employment BPS but the department can get tiresome. I will never stop applying and trying. I know my time will come I scored pretty good on Civil Service so who knows.

Last I knew they DID get Middlesex Deputy powers, as they were NOT interested at all in SSPO. Of course with CH73/s.18 and 15A/s.22 police authority, they obviously don't need MSP tentacles in their business, just like Bridgewater State opted for.
They are not armed. The administration prefers they opt not to do police work, but they do get along with the locals O.K.
Once they even got a surplus MSP vehicle, but then they had to get rid of it...

On the plus side, it is a state position, and you might find it a slight step above the school police. I'd take it because you could always use it to move around to other state schools perhaps.

FYI, they are in Norfolk County. I don't think Norfolk County grants deputy powers like Middlesex does, at least I've never heard of it.

True, however some of their property is also in Newton and apparently thats the reason for that (Middlesex). If you really want to know more, then PM annadad71, cuz he has worked their in recent years and has more intimate knowledge.

They have a campus in Framingham which is in Middlesex.
