Hi, Im 17, and i want to become a police officer, my dad is a boston firefighter and he told me to really look into it and make sure its what i really want to do. I have been told in the other section of the forum (ask a cop) that getting a job as a dispatcher is a good way to see what goes on in the police seen, and helps to get a better feel for it. Im looking to find out more about the qualifications, where, and what types of dispatch services are avalible in MA, any help and advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you want to become a police officer join the military. You're only 17 so you have a lot of future ahead of you. It's going to be hard without the veterans preference in this state. Do your 4 years you will get the veteran status and take the test. Take the firefighter test too, you're almost a lock with your dad already being a firefighter and if you're a veteran.
