ORLANDO, Fla. --
Orlando Police made several arrests in two drug round ups on Thursday.
Officers said three children were inside a home on Mercy Drive where police made four drug arrests and confiscated drugs and weapons.
Within minutes of swarming the home on Mercy, the Orlando Police Drug Enforcement Unit and SWAT team found marijuana, cocaine, and five handguns.
Orlando Police Captain Larry Zwieg said when officers knocked down the door, one suspect tried to run.
"One of the individuals, an adult male, ran out the back, threw at least one of the guns out the back as he was running, jumped the fence," Zwieg said. "At that point we arrested him in the backyard of a neighbor."
Officers said the children in the Mercy Drive home were picked up by family members.
"It's always disappointing for us when we see little kids inside of a house that's selling drugs out of it. It amazes me that people put their kids at that kind of risk," added Zwieg.
Earlier in the day, police made three arrests in a raid at a home on Robinson Street and Lee Avenue in the Parramore community. Officers recovered one gun and found 15 grams of cocaine.
