How do you " wash out"? I dont mean to ask a stupid question but are these people quitting or are they being asked to leave? If you're in the academy and you are giving 100% day in day out can you be booted?

If your version of "100%" sucks, then why not?

Massachusetts being one of the best states as far as police pay is a double-edged sword; it's great for those of us on the job, but it also attracts people who want no part of being a police officer, they just want the paycheck, benefits, details, etc. People like this will often (but not often enough) drop out of the academy when they realize, hey; this is like....hard.

They would have had to physically remove me from the academy grounds; no way was I going to leave voluntarily.
