i saw that derry police department is testing again. Anyone know info on this department and if they are expeting to put on a good number of officer's. I saw that 3 officer's were put on in 07, juat wanna know if derry is worth giving a try or if it is political.

To be honest, it seems they test more often than others, besides Nashua and Manch., and not hire people. Their test is one of the more expensive one and they do weed people out because a lot of shady individuals to think they'll get by. It's up to you though on if you want to take the chance of getting on, it never hurts I guess.

The Town of Derry is seeking applications for Police Officers
Certified and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, and will be subject to an extensive background investigation. New officers must complete a probationary period. Work schedule includes rotating shifts, weekends and holidays. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy proactive Police Department.
Hourly pay range is $20.34 - $25.06. Excellent benefits. Visit the Derry Police Department on Municipal Drive in Derry for an employment application or print an application packet while online. The Derry Police Department conducts pre-employment medical exams, drug tests and psychological evaluations.
Start the application process by printing an application packet. All of the needed documents are in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print them.
Follow the instructions and be sure to fill out all forms completely. Incomplete applications may be returned without consideration.

Send completed application to: Town of Derry, 14 Manning Street, Derry, NH 03038 Attn: Human Resources, by

Does anyone know how many officer's Derry is looking to hire? I know of one opening due to one of there officers transfering to the Salem PD.

Pretty sure they want to hire at least a couple because a lot of people bailed/plan on bailing from that dept..

Is the department a good place to work? I figured it has to be pretty decent since the Chief in Derry is in charge of the Tactical Unit in the area. There must be a good reason for the turn around. Derry is an active department so I dont see officers leaving for a lack of work or boredom.

If your not on a PD already apply everywhere and take any job that you are offered..get your foot in the door and then do what you got to do...every place has its pros and cons...

Derry is a great place to work. On their last test all of the people either failed the written or PAT portion

Well hopefully the same thing will happen again. Makes it a little easier to get on when everyone else isn't even making to the oral boards.
