There is a rumor going around that the public safety director of NAGE, Dave Benard, has made innuendos that NAGE (IBPO/IBCO) has been assisting the Essex County Corretional Officers Association fight off the a possible decert vote from the National Correctional Employees Union with legal help, and possibly financial help. If this is the case shouldn't the dues paying members they represent know of this, and do you think they would approve of it. Any help to clear this up would be helpful.

Why would NAGE get involved in supporting ECCOA vs. NCEU? For that matter just how closely associated is NAGE with IBPO/IBCO?

NCEU is a brand new group that has former NAGE/IBCO employees involved with it. NAGE will do anything to prevent independent groups from affiliating with this new union. Maybe there is a back door deal between NAGE and members of ECCOA who don't want to affiliate with NCEU. If NAGE helps fight off the NCEU decert, maybe then some members of ECCOA will push to affiliate with NAGE/IBCO. Although, if they were to do the research, they would see that far more groups are leaving NAGE/IBPO/IBCO than joining. By the way, this is strictly speculation, as I fully admit I have no inside knowledge regarding this situation.
