The following positions are available:
Entry Level Recruit Officers - $30,060 annually with a salary increase to $33,039 upon completion of Phase III of the training program.
Lateral Entry Officers with Certification - $31,262 annually with a salary increase to $34,360 upon completion of Phase III of the training program (Must be State Certified with two years of full-time, paid law enforcement experience). These officers start at lateral pay and must complete the department's abbreviated Advanced Law Enforcement Academy and Field Training Program.
Local applicants should attend an open house information session to fill out a City of Durham application. For dates and times, please see the Recruiting Calendar. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Out-of-town applicants should call or email a recruiter for instructions.
