Position Title: POLICE OFFICER Position Number: 001-04 Closing Date: Until Filled Salary Range: $31,069 Department: Police Division: Police Location: Field Operations
Minimum Requirements: HS graduate or equivalent. US Citizen. Age 21. Ability to obtain a valid NC Driver's License. Vision corrected to 20/20 and cannot be colorblind. Height/weight must be proportionate. Applications must be submitted IN PERSON at 4501 Atlantic Ave., Suite 124, Raleigh, NC. A FORMAL preliminary interview will be conducted at that time. Applicants may apply MONDAY-FRIDAY, 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Position Duties: Protects life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances; patrols assigned areas; responds to calls for police service; conducts preliminary and follow-up criminal and traffic investigations; conducts interviews; prepares written reports and field notes of investigations and patrol activities; apprehends criminals; and testifies in court. Work requires extensive contact with outside agencies and the general public. THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT
