Does anyone know if there is a first responder course being held soon? Any information on how to find a class or a list of places where classes are held would be great. I need the class to obtain state special police powers.

they do every training there, just email them and they will get back to you

If the course you need is offered by the Red Cross, then it will meet whatever standards you need. Just make sure it is the exact course title specified by your employer.

MPTC Academy in Boylston will be having a First responder class starting mid May 2008.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize how much of a pain it is to find a first responder class until I started searching.

You mentioned it had to be a "State Police Approved Course", I am just curious are you employed by the state police? If so contact your platoons training officer.

Im not employed by the state police but where I work I need to get my State Special Police Officer powers. If the first responder course is not taught by an approved instructor it would be a waste of time and money.

I am almost positive that Bolyston is holding one. I can find out when they are holding it tonight and get back to you. but seeing as how you have several replies, you probably already found one.

Reading typically holds one concurrently with the R/I Academy on Wednesday evenings...which means the next one probably won't be starting until September.
