Is the entire Bridgewater complex (MCI, state hospital, detox, sex offender treatment, etc.) totally under DOC control, or are there portions under the DMH?

Also, is Bridgewater a popular duty assignment for DOC people?

While we're at it...

Does Old Colony still exist?
Where does it fit in to this?

the complex is
State Hospital ( Bug House )
OCCC ( Old Colony )
MTC ( mass. treatment center = child molesters and now rapists )
MASAC ( drug and alcohol ) used to be the old boot camp
SECC ( closed )

and Warren Hall for in-service training.

lots of guys leaving OCCC . they just had a shake down on the officers . Captains went into the towers at 0630 waiting for the dayshift officers.

guys were gigged for cellphones and other BS infractions. DOC sent IPS down to Texas to take pictures of guys at the super bowl ( they banged in ) one guy lost his job place really sucks thanks to management.

the TC isn't bad if you don't mind baby sitting a bunch of child molesters. the diddlers have new power thanks to the farther gagan incident. baby rapers are now a protected species in the DOC.

some guys like the bug house , it's still old school corrections. MASAC is not a bad stop either.

it's all DOC with k-9 patrolling the property ( at least i think they still do , haven't seen them in awhile ) state trans has an office out there too.

i'd say anything except OCCC would be OK for work.

The DMH provides the MDs and "treatment" for these offenders. UMass Medical School provides the staff for this. The DOC provide the security and inmate control. So I would guess instead of seeing mental health associates walking the hallways babysitting patients, you would see DOC Officers.

Thanks....what are the chances of a new CO being sent to any of the Bridgewater facilities? A friend of mine is taking the exam this month, and was wondering what his chances are. I told him probably pretty slim, but I'd ask someone who would know.

in days of old you would get a card from institutions looking for warm bodies.

you would sign their list and if hired would report to that institution. now all trainees are sent to the academy and handed assignments upon graduation.

unfortunately most are sent to Walpole or SBCC aka Shirley Max . some guys luck out and get better assignments. if your sent to Walpole don't let the administration know of your intent to transfer. their new trick is to hand out BS one day suspensions to officers. this prevents them from transferring for one year.

with the turn over rate you could suck it up for a year or two and get a better stop in the DOC.

it's best to lay low , keep your back against the wall and try to be invisible. there's cameras everywhere and the inmates are running the show.

Thanks pahapoika, I'll pass on the information.

good luck to your friend. it's a negative environment and the above info is on the worst end of it , but most guys adapt and do OK

It all based on needs and also who has a dime. They usually give the top graduate in the class a pick based on openings.

Why in the blue hell are they screwing with peoiple over there in OCCC? They are going to have a mass exodus in the next five years. They will be lucky if they can get enough warm bodies to fill that place.

Oh my gawd, that is sad. Maybe they should have put the cheese eaters to work on a block instead of putting them on vacation in Arizona (Super Bowl was in Phoenix brutha).

So if you have a connection, you might be able to get assigned somewhere better than shanksville?
