An attacker slashed two victims at Roxbury Crossing T Station yesterday at the height of rush hour, MBTA officials said.
One victim was stabbed while waiting on a platform and another was stabbed in a parking lot behind the Tremont Street station at about 5:30 p.m., said Lydia Rivera, MBTA spokeswoman.
The platform victim managed to crawl out of the station and was found by authorities on Parker Hill Avenue. The victim was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The second victim was taken by their parents to Boston Children’s Hospital.
Transit cops cordoned off the station, forcing passengers to catch a nearby shuttle bus. Nearby Terrace Street was also closed by cops searching for clues.
No details of the victims’ injuries, their sexes or their ages were immediately available.
State police homicide detectives were called to the scene, the first time state troopers have been called to act under new rules introduced by Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley last September.
Conley’s decision to put state police detectives in charge of investigating homicides on or near MBTA buses, trains, stations, and platforms caused tension between the DA and Boston police Commissioner Ed Davis.
