It is a very good+ place to work. FT Academy, area details, modern equipment and doctrine. One of the greatest detectives I've ever met too.

Only scary thing I've heard recently is that "Ear wax" was back in area sniffing around about a job. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't believe everything you hear Bridgewater State PD has a great operation. However there is a reason why they always have turnover. The fulltime academy yeah they will send you but they are behind about 4-5 officers they only send 1 a year. So if you get hired you will not be attending an academy for about 4-5 years thats what they don't tell you. The pay is very bad pay role is terrible your check is almost always wrong you have to fight to get the little bit of money they do pay you. Forced over time and details I have never heard of a department forcing their officers for details. They do have the best equitment but equitment will not pay bills. All I will say is if your a live at home young person its great for getting into the field. If you have a family or even retired its not worth the troubles you will go through. Believe me Bridgewater State PD is not all what its cracked up to be. Do your home work before jumping in. Somthing that I did not do and hurt myself in the pocket really bad.

It's a shame that the state colleges don't pay better. Most of them seem like decent enough departments.
