MOUNT POCONO — A drunk woman tried getting into a cab with people who didn't want to share it with her and bit one of them as she was being removed, the driver told police.
Disorderly conduct and public drunkenness charges against Bethany Melcher, 30, of Tobyhanna, are pending in connection with the Monday evening incident at a bar in Mount Pocono, police said. At 7:39 p.m., the bar called police to report Melcher, who then left before police arrived and began walking on Route 611, according to a press release.
Melcher tried getting into a cab with several other people and was told to leave, but refused to do so, said driver Alex Shkurat. Shkurat said he eventually got her out of the cab, but that "she turned around and bit one of the passengers," according to police.
If that unidentified passenger contacts police to file a report, Melcher could face additional charges, police said.
