He was injured in a crash during a funeral escort

Family, friends, and fellow deputies are waiting for word as one of their fights for his life.
Spencer Gallow, 44, a motorcycle deputy with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, is in critical condition after an accident during a funeral procession.
Gallow was leading the procession through the intersection of Highway 31 and Victoria Loop when a car hit him and pinned him between it, and a patrol unit. State Police said the 66 year old driver of the car didn't see Gallow coming, even though sirens were blaring and lights flashing.
Gallow is the brother of Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow, and has been on the force for almost two years.
He graduated from the Academy in June 2006. KATC interviewed him on that graduation day. He told TV-3, he was looking forward to serving, safely.
"I look froward to doing my job out there and going home... Surviving," he said.
