MARLBOROUGH - A Hubbardston man was arrested Monday night after police said he made threatening calls to a Marlborough woman and drove to the city with several other men to fight the woman's friend.
Renato Guerra, 18, of 34 Dogwood Road North, left threatening messages for a woman and argued with her male friend yesterday afternoon, police said.
The woman, whose name was withheld because of the ongoing investigation, called police. The woman's friend then offered to lure Guerra to the old Jericho Hill Ski area for a fight, according to the police report on file at Marlborough District Court.
Police set up across from the ski hill and "within minutes" saw three cars "loaded with young ... males" heading toward Jericho Hill, the report reads.
Guerra was in the second car and gave police the fake name of "Vinny Licio," according to the report. Police identified Guerra by an upper-arm tattoo of a star with his last name on it.
Guerra was arrested and charged with intimidating a witness, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and refusing to identify self to a police officer, police said.
Another man, Bruno C. Tavares, 22, of 148 Boston Post Road East, Apt. 8, Marlborough, was arrested on an unspecified warrant charge. Guerra was released on $500 cash bail after being arraigned yesterday in Marlborough District Court, according to court records. His next court date is an April 7 pretrial hearing.
