Fall River - With his wife and children by his side, a city man was arrested Monday on a variety of gun and drug charges. Police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Mauretti said detectives with the Vice and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at 682 Eastern Ave., first floor. The man who lives in that apartment and the target of the investigation, Gregory Massey, 21, watched with his family present as detectives allegedly located more than 14 grams of cocaine and a .25-caliber handgun, with the serial number defaced. As detectives were still in the apartment, Massey’s brother, Michael Massey, 19, came in. He was followed shortly thereafter by Nicholas Ruggerio, 20, of 133 Keeley St. Police searched both men and allegedly found crack cocaine on each of them. Gregory Massey is charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws, felony possession of a firearm, possessing firearm without a FID card, trafficking in cocaine more than 14 grams and trafficking Class B in a school zone. Michael Massey’s charges are possession to distribute a Class B drug, possession to distribute in a school zone and drug conspiracy. Ruggerio was charged with possession of a Class B drug. Mauretti said the arrests were made within 1,000 feet of the Espirito Santo School.
