Robert Befford
Juan Orellanes
Maria Pagan
Ramon Nieves

SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP) Springfield Police Sergeant John Delaney told 22News the suspects were selling heroin from the Peter Pan bus terminal at 1176 Main Street. Police arrested Maria Pagan and Juan Orellanes of Springfield, Ramon Nieves of Holyoke and Robert Befford of Springfield.

The officers set up an extensive surveillance that resulted in the above arrests.

Befford was one of the customers and was charged with the possession of heroin. The other subjects were charged with:
a) Possession of heroin with intent to distribute
b) Distribution of heroin
c) Violation of a drug free school zone
d) Resisting arrest (Nieves)
e) Distribution and possession with intent of a "Class E" substance.

This is a significant arrest because the Springfield police department has been getting numerous complaints about drug sales and bus travelers were not feeling safe.
Commissioner Fitchet stated that "these drug sales will not be tolerated and has asked that the bus terminal kept on the narcotics division radar and step up the surveillances and arrests at the bus terminal".
Police confiscated 35 bags of heroin, 130 prescription pills, and more than $1,200 in cash.

Peter Pan NYC to Springfield...biggest drug curriers in the business, besides FedEx and UPS.

Wow, they're selling heroin at the Peter Pan terminal in Springfield? Holy smokes!

Probably the best known hot spot in the city.
