BOSTON -- A woman was killed and a teenager was injured after in a stabbing and shooting in Revere on Monday.
Massachusetts State Police homicide detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office responded to a Fernwood Avenue home in Revere on Monday after a report of a fatal stabbing and a non-fatal shooting.
Neighbors said a 37-year-old woman was attacked by her teenaged son.
"I just heard commotion and I came out to look. I saw that it was my house, so I was asking around if anybody knew what happened. And I called my landlord and he didn't know what was going on. And then I, you know, saw them take the mother out on a stretcher and they were trying to resuscitate her, and they took the son out," neighbor Kristy Gensel said.
The teenager was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. A police officer complaining of chest pains was also taken to the hospital.
No other details, including the names of the victims or a motive, were immediately available.

Nightmare: Police work the Ferndale Avenue scene in Revere yesterday where Corey Roche was shot by police after he allegedly stabbed his mother to death.
Revere police confronting an alleged knife-wielding killer opened fire at the man yesterday after the suspect refused to drop the blade police say he used to slay his own mother.
Corey Roche, 23, was shot in the torso by a Revere officer who raced to 35 Ferndale Ave. after reports of a stabbing at about 3:15 p.m. yesterday, police said.
Police burst into the building and found Lisa Bryson Roche, 42, with multiple stab wounds in the first-floor apartment, said Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley.
Police said they then spotted her son Corey armed with a knife and ordered him to drop the weapon. He refused and an officer fired in self-defense, according to Conley.
“Both Ms. Roche and her son were rushed to an area hospital. Ms. Roche was pronounced dead on arrival and Roche remains in stable condition with a gunshot-related injury,” said Conley.
Corey Roche is expected to survive and was to be charged with his mother’s murder last night or this morning, Conley’s office said.
“We will investigate Ms. Roche’s tragic final moments until the facts and circumstances are known and we can speak for her in a court of law,” Conley said, adding the Roche family had suffered an “awful tragedy.”
Neighbor Kristy Gensel, 26, who has only lived on the building’s third floor for three months, said she did not know the victim or the suspect but said the family seemed “normal.”
“I’m shocked. They seemed like a regular family,” she said.
“I think the mom has one or two smaller children and the husband leaves early in the morning. I think he works as a landscaper. He seemed like a really nice guy.”
Revere police and state police detectives are investigating the killing and last night sealed the building pending a search warrant.
Man charged with fatally stabbing mother held without bail
BOSTON -- A Lynn man shot by police after allegedly stabbing his mother to death was ordered held without bail after pleading not guilty at his hospital bed arraignment.
Prosecutors say 23-year-old Cory Roche was charged Tuesday with murder and armed assault with intent to murder in connection with the death of 42-year-old Lisa Bryson Roche.
Police responded to Lisa Bryson Roche's Revere home on Monday after getting a 911 call from inside the house. Prosecutors say an officer shot the son once in self defense when he refused to drop a knife he was holding.
Lisa Roche was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Cory Roche was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital and is expected to survive.
His lawyer, Robert Wheeler, says it's early in the legal process and an investigation will reveal the truth of the incident.
