Associated Press - February 25, 2008 3:34 PM ET WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Police are seeking the public's help after determining that the man responsible for a 2004 sexual assault in Wethersfield also attacked an 86-year-old woman in Florida last year. State police scientists say they used DNA to determine that the man who attacked a 62-year-old woman on a walking path near Wethersfield High School four years ago also sexually assaulted a woman in October in Winter Park, Fla. In that case, the victim was assaulted by a man who saw her through a bedroom window, entered through an unlocked door and stole her purse before fleeing. No match has been found with the DNA taken from people on file with the national and state DNA data banks. Authorities are asking for the public's help because they are concerned that the man may have assaulted other people. Anyone with information should call the Wethersfield or Winter Park police departments or the cold case unit in the Office of the Chief State's Attorney/Division of Criminal Justice.
