Special notes:
The anticipated starting salary range is $42,000 - $47,000(including CAD). Position may be filled at the minimum of the starting range. The Attorney General's Child Predator CyberCrime Unit is a Florida certified law enforcement agency. Candidates must possess current Florida law enforcement certification and a minimum of 3 years of law enforcement investigative experience. Preference will be given to applicants with experience investigating crimes against children, Internet investigations, computer proficiency, and familiarity with Online chat language and codes. Preference will also be given to Florida certified law enforcement officers that are fluent in speaking and writing Spanish. This is a unique opportunity for a talented and experienced law enforcement officer to investigate high profile cases dealing primarily with the on-line exploitation, solicitation, and enticement of children on the state and national level. This position requires a background investigation including fingerprinting, pursuant to s. 110.1127(1), F.S. Submission of a State of Florida employment application required for all Career Service positions.

Minimum qualifications:
Three (3) years of sworn law enforcement experience. Two (2) years of public contact experience or two (2) years of active and continuous military service can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. In addition to the above requirements, Florida Statute 943 requires that any person employed in this class must: (1) Be at least 19 years of age. (2) Be a citizen of the United States, notwithstanding any laws of the State to the contrary. (3) Be a high school graduate or its “equivalent” as the term may be determined by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission of the Department of Law Enforcement. (4) Not have been convicted of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement, nor have received a dishonorable or undesirable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States. Any person who, after July 1, 1981, pleads guilty or nolo contendere to or is found guilty of a felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement shall not be eligible for employment or appointment as an officer, notwithstanding suspension of sentence or withholding of adjudication. (5) Have his/her processed fingerprints on file with the employing agency. (6) Have passed a physical examination by a licensed physician, based on specifications established by the Commission. (7) Have a good moral character as determined by a background investigation under procedures established by the Commission. ( Possess a current certificate of compliance for basic employment certification issued by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. SPECIAL NOTE: If the employee does not hold a current certificate of compliance issued by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission at the time of appointment to a position in this class, the individual must be appointed with a base salary of 10% below the minimum pay and must, within 180 consecutive days following such appointment, obtain the certificate of compliance. Such appointments shall not count toward completion of the probationary period.
