Well I scored in the 10 band in Mass and was still like number 50-80 on the towns I applied to and got fed up. I was planning on moving to Florida anyway but that just re-assured me.

Just got a call today from the chief and I got hired in South Florida! Whole process took about 2.5 months for me and I start in March and will be in the april academy! Moving from Mass was the best thing I ever did to persue my law enforcement career...not to mention the weather down here So happy.

What agency??

Congradulations. If I'm not mistaken from reading in other forums, you took off for FL a few months back, correct? And to already be hired is great. Congrads again and good luck with everything.

Correct! Thanks man. Although the process was short for me it was very stressful...feels good and can't wait to start.

People I know who went down to Florida have done very well. Be careful and keep other readers informed about how you are doing and any tips you may have for starting or changing their careers.

Don't be jealous, come on down, we're still looking for a few good men, not to mentions it's 83 degrees right now. After you finish shovelling today, you could actually throw your shovel away and never have to pick up another one

Once again...thanks guys.

As far as addmendmant 1 I don't know how it's going to effect us as I'm brand new....I got hired and am getting paid in the academy...so it can't be that bad?

Don't think I'll get home sick...some of my best friends that I did a part time academy with back in Mass are looking to move down too

For all of you that say you are jealous...don't be...Just a few months ago I was sitting up in Mass saying the same thing. If you want it that bad sometimes you just have to move away from your current life and start somewhere, where you will get hired.

If anyone is thinking about making the move and has any questions don't be afraid to PM me.

Nice work kiddo. I grew up in Sterling myself, so it's good to see a homeboy do well!

Good luck in the academy, and keep it locked in. I would make the jump too, but I think I may join Barbrady in NC instead.
