I am looking for any information on this department. How big? Pro active department? Are they squared away? Do they have a lot of arrest's? How hard is it to get into this department? Is there a big turn over rate? What is the Chief like.

It is a very small town and small department. There are currently 7 patrolman 3 sgts and a chief, the town has approx. 7000 people with only 12,000 square miles. They are not a real busy department, mostly chapter 90. however theres not many main roads either. hope this helps alittle bit. They will be giving a test also, and you absolutly need to be full time academy trained.

Considering that Route 12 runs right through it, making it a Worcester/Fitchburg drug pipeline, and it borders Worcester. I would not categorize that as a 'very small town' (unless you count population only). I don't know anyone on the department per se, but I can imagine that it's a bit more active than Denali22 makes it out to be. They have plenty of visitors.

Don't forget the Wal-Mart that is a trash magnet.

12,000 square miles? They must be the State Police!

You mean the Valley's own five finger discount center?

Several 5-star hotels along Rt. 12 attract some winners. Also, the PD gets to corral all the knob-gobblers that troll the woods near the Wachusett Reservoir.

When I have time I like to sit at Steve's Pizza and watch 'em going north and south on Rt 12. Easy money, baby.

Some good guys work on that department. Last I remember it was VERY proactive, especially the evening shift. Wal-Mart is a source of many arrests... So isn't the Sona Motor Inn. I think that's what it's still called... may have changed from years ago, but I remember getting lists of license plates during the 11-7 and at least 1 out of every 5 plates ran had a warrant of some type.

Hi there. First post here on these forums... Nice community you guys got here. =]

Anyway, my uncle was the Chief there (now retired). Of course, years ago, when he was in that role, things were probably much calmer. With Worcester growing towards its city limits, the town sees its growing share of traffic.

SinePari, are you an officer in this department?
