FULL TIME POLICE DISPATCHER Operates a radio console in the receipt and transmission of emergency calls; dispatches equipment as necessary; does related work as required. Positions in this class involve dispatching work by telephone and radio, in accordance with established procedures. Calls are received for police or other emergency equipment, whereupon the incumbent contacts by radio the unit or units to be dispatched, giving the type and location of the emergency and other pertinent information. Final decisions on matters other than routine are made by the shift commander, who exercises supervision over the Dispatcher. Does related work as required. The minimum salary for this position is $32,307.60
