Kids injured in 25-child pile-up

Twenty-five children at a Scottish school were injured in a freak corridor incident, as one child's lost shoe triggered a chain of collisions which ended up in a massive child pile-up.
The kid pile occurred outside the library of Denny High School in Falkirk, when one first year student lost her shoe as children headed to class after morning break.
Bending down to pick it up, she tripped – but the mass of pupils in the corridor failed to notice, and continued walking. The more pupils tripped over, the more thing there were to trip over, and it all went downhill rather rapidly.
One senior pupil at the school described the calamity: 'The corridor was really busy, and people just kept walking, and they started to pile up. We were helping the people who had been injured, and at one point it was like the scene in The Wizard of Oz when the witch is trapped underneath the house.'
Several children were taken to hospital after the incident. Head teacher Stephen Miller said: 'In the main, the injuries were soft-tissue damage, ankle sprains, dizziness and sore heads.'
