Hi!

I'm new to the forum and generally just like to look around. I was a cop in Brazil, but I'm an American Citizen. I believe I can some information about Brazilian licences authenticity. If you take the license out of the plastic, and hold it horizontily against your eyes, so the license faces the sky, on the right hand side there's a water mark that should say "CNH". its pretty complicated if I describe it in words, my English isn't outstanding because I lived there for 23 years, but I live in cambridge, if any of you want to see a Real brazilian license and learn all the ways you can tell one is fake....just e-mail me...

Posted by: Truck

Thanks for the tip. Congratulations on getting into this country legally and becoming a citizen. However since you are from Cambridge, you wasted your time and could have just moved there and gotten sanctuary instead of going through all the bureaucratic red tape.

Washington State is very popular right now. I love to watch them squirm when I ask them what street they lived on in Washington and they didn't even take the time to learn it. Genius.

I took a class through the ABCC. A real Brazilian license actually has a whole ton of security features. I was surprised. The most surprising is they buy paper from the US Treasury (or whatever department) as it is the same that US currency is printed on.

Posted by: MarceloBini

through the mail?? well I didn't know that....

I know a couple of guys that went there and got it...it it was not cheap...

There are a lot of diferent ways to see if the B license is fake...you could try logging in to teh DENATRAN , easy steps and you can match the license with a name......that's the department that is resposible for vehicles and licenses nationwide... if anyone is interested in how that's done PM me...

Posted by: mtc

Real, fake, doesn't matter, we still can't send 'em back!

I've run ONE real licence number that came back valid - but to someone else.

Posted by: O-302

The more than one person security feature:

Posted by: MarceloBini

Be careful...Attention to the dates you put in the system, if required...remember that in Brazil and other latin countries its the other way around. dd/mm/yyyy. I also have to say that most of the Brazilians who fake Brazilian Licences just copy them and change a small detail on the name...the number will remain the same. So problably the name you came up with in the system is their real name....

It's actually not paper, but a type of linen. That's why money doesn't disintegrate when it goes through the wash by accident.

Without a visa, passport, or resident card...a real Brazilian license is 90-10. After 30 days in the commonwealth and no MA license? 90-10. And for those of you who get them a lot, the birth date is DD/MM/YYYY, not MM/DD/YYYY. It screws up their BOP and PCF history with the dates backwards.

Isn't a legit Brazilian license good for 30 days even without a passport, visa, etc.?

I haven't seen a fake in awhile....I think they're figuring out it's a lot better to get whacked for unlicensed than forging a RMV document.

They're almost as cheap as a North Carolina license!

Wasn't Florida a hit for a while too?

It's their responsibility to prove how long they've been in country, and without a passport or a visa bearing that stamp...90-10. Let them bring the documents into their arraignment and contact the Brazilian consolate...since they're here legally, right?

Posted by: SPINMASS

Maine seems to be popular to. I love when I run the license and the SS# is 000-00-0000

Only if they have a visitor or student visa they have 1 year, if they have a work visa no go they have to get a mass state license immediately if they want to drive. If they have a student or visitor visa and you stop them ask them if they are presently working and if they are they are 90/10 unlicensed, they have also violated their visitor and or student visa.
I had a guy I pulled over and he gave me a brizilian license (legit). I asked him if he has a job and is working and he gave me his buisness card with his name on it for a used car buisness 90/10 submitted his statement in the report and his card to the district court.

PS brizil is not in agreement as a mandatory country to be notified when their citizens get arrested

The old white laminiated Florida license was pretty easy to duplicate. Although they're still floating around, they're pretty much obsolete. The new license has a ton of security features and is pretty hard to duplicate, UV, holograms etc.

We use a web based service called Docutector to compare out of state and forigen licenses and ID's. It's a subscription service, but if you're agency kicks in the fee for it, I used it all the time, and find it real useful. Working in a large tourist mecca, half of the people you run in to have out of state or forigen licenses.

It's really simple.... Check the passport.... No USA Visa..... No License.... It doesn't matter what they hand you... Arrest them all.... If you have live scan finger printing you will find a lot of illegals that are wanted for deportation. I.C.E. is pretty good with issueing detainers and picking them up from court. We have deported over 50 of them in the last year. Just doing our part.

We only have 2 cells, so if we arrested them all with all the m/v stops we do, the booking room would look like a buffet line at Shoneys when the bacon comes out.

I had a female who had a fake California license along with her fake Brazilian license. The number on the Cal. license came back to another female but all the information was for the illegal female.....I know it is not possible but I like to arrest them so you can get their fingerprints and find out who they really are. On avergage it is like 1 out of 5 that end up wanted by ICE and end up deported (only to be back a few months later). They automated fingerprint machine is the best....I just wish the courts would jump on board and stop dismissing all the charges against them.

Posted by: mtc

I'd like to find just ONE certifiable American citizen willing to be arrested, arraigned, and held accountable for unlicenced operation, to scream discrimination against a citizen.

it is a felony charge that does not get taken very serious....has anybody actually seen this charge stick??? I have charged it for fake licenses on Brazilians, underage people making id's and inspection stickers.... It is always the same result in court, dismissed for court costs.

Dude, this is Massachusetts. Nothing sticks but it gives you a rock solid right of arrest, and perhaps the felony might make the difference between an ICE detainer or them walking out the door for $40.

Posted by: girlcop21

I think my favorite stop was a Brazilian who gave me his Brazilian license with, amazingly enough, his current Lowell address... when asked how long he had been in the country, he said several years.

Posted by: AbleOne

One of my arrests for a fake Brazillian License turned into a man who's prints came back to two names with two warrants. Also an ICE detainer. love that new fingerprint system.
