North Providence -- A North Providence police sergeant has been convicted of nine of 10 charges against him, including two counts of burglary, following a trial in Superior Court.
Ciresi was facing burglary and other charges in connection with a plot to rob a Pawtucket drug house.
Prosecutors say he teamed up with Mark Pine, 37, to pull off the robbery. Pine is already at the ACI on an unrelated robbery charge. The only count the jury did not convict Ciresi of was a felony count of receiving stolen goods over $500.
Ciresi was suspended from the department without pay in September 2005 after police charged him with receiving stolen goods and obstructing justice.
The judge ordered Ciresi held on $1 million bail, and he was taken from the courtroom in handcuffs.
A date has not been set for his sentencing.
