BROCKTON— Three men were shot and wounded in separate shootings on Wyman and Grand streets over the weekend, police said.
All three men suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police said they do not believe the two shootings are related.
A 38-year-old Brockton man was sent to the hospital after he was shot and wounded on Wyman Street in the downtown area about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, police said.
The man, who was not identified, was shot several times in the arms and legs, police said. His condition was not known Sunday night.
Police said the man was standing in front of his house when another person came by, a discussion began, and he was then shot, police said.
No suspects have been identified.
Later, about 2 a.m. Sunday, two men were shot on Grand Street on the city’s south side, police said.
Police did not release the victims’ names, ages or addresses Sunday night.
Both men were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
One man was shot in the leg and the other in the abdomen, police said. Their conditions were not known Sunday night.
Police said arrests have been made in the Grand Street shooting, but they did not release the names of the persons charged in the incident Sunday night.
The shootings over the weekend are the latest in a string of violence in Brockton since the beginning of the year.
Markeen Starks, 19, was stabbed to death early New Year’s Day outside a family party on Skinner Street.
His 15-year-old accused killer, Emmanuel Okoro of Brockton, turned himself in to police days later after police obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Police have also made an arrest in the city’s second slaying.
Shane Bester is accused of killing Adilson Pires after the wake of Starks.
Bester fled to Florida after the shooting on Main Street and was arrested in Orlando after state police were able to pinpoint his whereabouts.
Sources said Pires and Bester had a prior altercation and saw each other in the area of a liquor store on Main Street. They had another confrontation that led to the shooting.
Pires earlier had attended a wake for Starks, 19, about a half a block from the shooting scene.
Authorities are also investigating separate unrelated shootings the same night Pires was killed. Those shootings on Falmouth Avenue left two men wounded, one critically.
Ronnell Lewis, 30, of Randolph, was shot in the head and torso.
Darron Hurt, 21, of Taunton was shot in the head and arm and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
