Investigation: Police talk at the scene of a fatal stabbing on Nassau Street in Chinatwon yesterday afternoon.
A white male in his 30s was stabbed to death in a Chinatown apartment building yesterday afternoon and police arrested the person they believe killed him.
Anthony Chambers, 50, of Boston was charged with one count of murder for the killing that happened about 1:40 p.m. on Nassau Street. He is expected to be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court sometime today.
Tenants of the building said the murder happened on the second floor in Apartment 214. Immediately following the slaying, two men were cuffed and led to police cruisers. Both were taken to the homicide unit for further questioning. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A real estate agent - whose open house tour of one of the building’s condominiums was blocked by yellow crime scene tape - said the building is a mix of rental units and condos. A tenant said the murder happened in one of the rented apartments.
She said many of the tenants are young professionals and medical students.
