he Weymouth Police Department is currently accepting applications for a Telecommunicator (dispatcher) with dispatch training. Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
APCO Institute: 40 hour Basic Telecommunicator Training Course Certificate.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Ability to type thirty-five words per minute minimum.
High School graduate or GED.
Two years public safety dispatching experience.
Working knowledge of computer-aided dispatch, radio, and Teletype equipment.
Massachusetts SETB 9-1-1 certificate desirable.
Working knowledge of the streets of Weymouth is preferred. Background checks are performed on all hires. Shift to be assigned, rotating days off with weekend and holiday work required. The salary range for this position is $36,821.52 - $45,384.05.
