PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- We’re following developing details now in a deadly pileup. This morning, a 71-year-old woman is dead, and her brother is in the hospital following a crash on route 95 yesterday.
State Police say their car slammed into another vehicle that someone had abandoned in the high-speed lane.
Both victims were taken to Rhode Island Hospital where Lopez-Rosario died later in the morning.
State police say at least three cars were involved in several crashes. Troopers are looking for the owner of that abandoned car. The incident is still under investigation.
