NORTON - Police say they arrested a wanted man Friday afternoon after forcibly entering his girlfriend's Route 140 apartment, and then allegedly finding the man hiding next door.
Victor Ussow, 30, was wanted on a number of charges, including assault and battery, disorderly conduct, property destruction and driving infractions, according to police.
At 3:30 p.m. Friday, Norton police went to Apartment 2 at 233 Mansfield Ave. after someone called 911 from a phone number there, but then hung up before talking to the dispatcher. The dispatcher tried to call back, police said, but no one answered.
When Norton Police Sgt. John Eisnor and Patrolmen Patrick Mahoney and Marc Robichaud arrived at the apartment, they saw a young boy alone inside, but no one came to let them in, they said. The officers called in Norton Fire Department personnel, who got them inside.
There, police said they found the boy's mother, Michelle Enos, 24, who told them she didn't hear them knocking because she was asleep.
After investigating, the officers said they found out that Ussow, Enos' boyfriend, was in the apartment with her before police arrived, but had fled into the back yard in the hopes that they wouldn't find him.

Police said they found Ussow hiding in neighboring Apartment 3, and arrested him there.
Ussow is being held without bail at the Norton police station. He is to be arraigned Monday at Attleboro District Court.
