A Mattapan teenager was shot dead Friday night in Cambridge, but authorities said it is not clear whether he died as the result of an accident or foul play.
Middlesex District Attorney’s Office spokesman Corey Welford said four people were arrested after the Windsor Street shooting.
When police arrived they found Lucien Christalin, 18, in the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died.
Medline Christalin, the victim’s sister, said she knows nothing about what happened leading up to her brother’s death or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
She said she’s dealing with the heartache of burying a family member who died too young.
“He was truly loved by me ’cause he’s the only brother I have,” she said.
Welford said cops have arrested three juveniles for weapons crimes and charged David J. Louis, 17, of Cambridge with possession of a firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without a license.
He said no one has been charged with murder, because the circumstances of the death are under investigation. Welford said the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine Christalin’s cause of death.
The Friday gunplay is the first shooting death in Cambridge since Doowensky Nazaire, 22, of Somerville, was gunned down outside a Central Square nightspot in March 2006. Nazaire had a feud with a man later identified as Elysee Bresilla, 28, of Roslindale, who was charged with his murder.
