Anyone have trouble getting information on who rents a car for example Enterprise. Called the other night for the name of the person who rented out a car belonging to them and the douchebag refused to give my department any information.....Anyone have this problem and know any tricks to the trade in obtaining this kind of information...... Thank You in advance

From Previous exprience, all you have to mention is the word "impound" and you'll get everything you need

I concur.

Last time I tried I was told I needed a court order for that info. by the rental agency. Their attorneys are telling them they need something like that in order to avoid being sued for invading the privacy of customers. I only encountered this recently.

Go in person to the local office if any. Explain to them that you are aware of people who are renting cars and then let others use them to deal drugs and other unlawful activities.

Then ask how you can be of help to them.

You might have to try this more than once but once successful, you're in.

Here is a website for enterprise that may help some, if you have the renters OLN and last name.

https://www.enterprise.com/car_renta...eiptRequest.do

Good Luck

What I do is call the 800 number, and select "road service" - I'm sure to get a human, I ID myself, and have no problem getting the renter's info, plus when it was due back. Sometimes they have to call me back, so they're sure it's a police agency.

Sometimes they ask us to take possession of the car as it's long overdue and they cannot reach the person that rented it.

I don't usually have a problem with the major agencies, but the hole in the wall companies are no help. There's one in Burlington I think, they must cater to scumbags.

If you already have the renter's info, then why would you want to look up the renter's info?

Its been a while since I used the site but from what I remember it gives you more information such as length of rental, types of vehicles rented, if vehicles have been changed, how rental was paid, renters address. Any info is better than no info

Thanks All, This was what ended up happening!! as I said the douchebag on the 24 hour hot line was no help. Today we spoke with a manager from Enterprise and he gave us the information. All we had to do is fax over an offical letter head which in turn he called back and gave us the info needed. Unbelievable !!!!!!! Thanks again.

Isn't the operator of the mv obligated to keep a copy of the contract in it at all times, I can remember yrs back a sergeant from a dept. showed me one and on the back it listed all the things you couldn't use the car for, actually pretty comical.

Yep - the rental agreement is supposed to be with the car at all times.

I had the dubious joy of telling a putz at Hertz last week that we were not only impounding the vehicle as evidence, but were calling a drug dog to search the car.... he's a very thorough drug dog, goes through the uphostery to make sure he finds every seed......
