New to this site....does anybody know anything about these 2 depts?
Posted by: Edmizer1
Weston has always been among the highest paid PDs. Not much to do but the pay is great. I took the test about 12 years ago just after I got out of the academy and went through a long testing/assesment center run by Jacques personnel. It was the most detailed process I have ever heard of. It must of cost the town a fortune. After they got the pool down to I think it was 6 of us for 2 jobs we took the assesment center. They had a mock chase/traffic stop we witnessed and had to write a report on. You had to handle a staff meeting, domestic call, and a bunch of other stuff while being watched.
It was also overseen by a Weston Lt, a sgt, and a selectman who were present at every step. We all got letters a week later saying we were disqualified. I heard that after the assesment center was over, they didn't like any of the candidates so they gave another test about a month later. This second time they didn't have the assesment center. They ended up hiring three people. The Lt's son, the Sgt's son, and a nephew of the selectman.

Can anyone advise salary, schedule, Quinn bill or anything else of interest for either of these dept's?

If anyone has taken a Jacques Personnel test before, can you give any insight? I know the app. says "general knowledge" but this will be my first test...just trying to know what to expect. I tried the search option, but didn't come up with much. If you have taken it, please post here or PM me. Thanks.

next time just give the extra info...PLEASE?
Posted by: Irish Wampanoag
Dont take this exam its fixed they already know who they are going to hire!!! Selectmens son chief nephew etc...
Posted by: CampusOfficer
I took the test a few years back (5 or 6 years), and had a similar experience. Made it to the final 6 or 7 only to hear that a relative was hired. Tremendous waste of time. I interviewed with the Chief of one of the towns, and two days later ran into him at an event. I said hi, and he gave me the "who the hell are you" look. Good sign there I didn't get the job. My own opinion was that it is a big formality and cover for them to hire who they want.
Posted by: afd414
I ve heard Weston is a desirable place to work
Posted by: lawdog21
Anyone have experience with this test? What type of questions?
Posted by: Deputydog522
Like Irish Wampanoag said- It is a waste of time and money. I used to work for one of these towns as a Dispatcher and I was told that I would get on if I passed the exam. almost 2 years went by and they ended up giving the job the a local kid who was 20 years old who had no law enforcement experience. Believe me they know who they are hiring for both towns. But this is a way to bring in 65.00 per person. Do what you want to do, but I am telling the truth from hands on experience.

BUT DEPUTY DOG I REALLY WANT TO BE A WESTON POLICE OFFICER!

Ill feed there tropical fish if they hire me, but I am not the guy who is related to the selectmen.
Something smells very fishy about hese towns. I think we well have sick mike beaudet on their asses....
Posted by: OutOfManyOne
They did not hire any sons and nephews of any selectmen. They did hire full time academy certified police officers with experience. Unless you got a FT academy and experience DON'T apply.
Weston also gives you a check for $50K when you retire, the golden handshake, nice on top of your pension.
Posted by: Deputydog522
Both those Police Dept's bow in front of the residents and kiss major ass. But they do get what they want for equipment without any problem. Lincoln did send a guy to the full academy and I believe he left to somewhere better. Weston really does like to hire full academy officers. Lincoln only likes to send "FAMILY" to the academy! Everyone unless you have a full academy please save your money and your saturday. I hate seeing places basically taking money from people that possibly believe that they have a chance when honestly these towns do not give a you know what!!!!
Posted by: j809
Sounds like you area bitter person. Maybe you should excel on your skills and become a stronger candidate instead of complaining about things you know very little about. But then again you are a deputy.

Bitter person? Not at all, Im just giving a little advice to people out there. If they want to listen to me great. If they do not than great too. Whatever, This is how it is in both those towns. Are things the same in Harvard?

The posting on Jacquesper says Sunday, March 9th and 2 people here have said Saturday, March 8th.
I am going to go with what Jacquesper says, even though a Sunday test seems strange.
