A federal jury has convicted a Boston man of conspiracy to traffic a child for prostitution. Victor Diaz, 24, and his niece, Evelyn Diaz, 23, of Chelsea, were arrested in July 2006 on conspiracy to engage in a child prostitution scheme. Prosecutors say from 2003 to 2005, the pair operated an escort service. They said Victor Diaz drove adults and a minor relative to prostitution calls. He faces a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison. Evelyn Diaz pleaded guilty last year to two counts of transporting a minor for prostitution, three counts of sex trafficking of children and conspiracy, and was sentenced to nine years.
