Main Page Woman Charged With Trying To Steal From Police Cruiser

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Police in Manchester said a woman picked the wrong car to try to steal from early Monday.

Police said that at about 4 a.m., an officer returning to an unmarked cruiser outside headquarters noticed a woman sitting inside, apparently rummaging through the vehicle.

The officer reported that the woman said she had been trying to find a police officer to report a problem with a man following her. The officer said the glove box was open, and items from the glove box and the officer's briefcase were strewn on the front seat.

Bambie Spooner, 29, of Manchester, was charged with attempted theft.
