Can someone tell me of any units there are in Boston, or near it..preferably not as far as Ft. Devens.

Posted by: Delta784

They're all over the place.....call a recruiter.

Posted by: SargeLorenzo

Be more specific. Are you asking about MP units or any type of unit? There are no Army Reserve MP Companies in Boston. Don't rule out the National Guard either. Talk to a recruiter and take the ASVAB and see what your scores look like.

401 CM (CS) inside the Meps building. Got reassigned as a 74D. From what I hear the unit is squared away and they're, as my recruiter's Cpt. put it "one of the best in New England". She agreed as well. I hope that Im able to go to WTC and AIT soon, so that I'll be able to catch the next police applicant process, I had to defer out of this one for the potential of leaving for training.

401st CM, as in Chemical Company? I don't see you doing "a minimum of 180 days of active duty, not for training purposes" any time soon. Not much need for those types once the cease fire is called.

Oooppss !! a little bit too late i guess!

I am currently deployed with a unit that drills next to the 401st chem. As a matter of fact, there are a few soldiers in my unit that were cross-leveled from the 401st. It's a pretty squared away unit and word has it they are going overseas really soon. Not for a chemical mission either.

I had my first drill with them this weekend, and I must say they seem to be a squared away company. And they deploy ALOT., which is exactly the kind of company i wanted to be with.

Where are you going for WTC? I'm heading out to that in September, I think to NM but not sure.

Im going in May..which sucks because a deployment just came up that they're going on and its during that time and I wont be able to go. Mines is in NM too, but I think you start off at Sill.

I get out a month or so before I deploy, it sucks being away from the kids that long WTC then deployment but I do want to go with my unit. I'm just at the point now I just want to get it over with.

What is WTC?, that that training that is MOS specific of is it a new acronym for something like PLDC/BNCOC? I did 10 years as a 95b/31b and got out in 95' and I think things have changed.....

Posted by: pballernh

The way the are using it, it would seem like WTC is a new acronym for Basic Combat Training (BCT).

401st is scheduled for an Iraq tour very soon.

Warrior Transition Course

Posted by: Q5-TPR

WTC is Warrior Transition Course. It is for prior service Navy and Air Force who join the Army. Kinda like a basic training and teaching basic Soldier skills. Marines don't have to attended if they cross over to the dark side. Or, as in my case, infiltrated.

There was a former Navy person in my basic training company. He got the shock of his life on the first day.

The Warrior Transition Course will provide our Army with trained, disciplined, motivated, and physically fit Soldiers who respond to leadership, are focused on teamwork, demonstrate the warrior ethos, and espouse the Army’s core values.

Hmmm... I'm already over the 180 days, I think I will give them a call and tell them they missed their chance
