Job Description

Basic Function: Performs the duties of a Police Dispatcher at the WPI Police Department Headquarters and as part time officer. As Dispatcher, is indirectly supervised by the police supervisor on duty.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Probably because they have to work alone. First you answer the 911 call, dispatch yourself, then run out to the cruiser and acknowledge yourself.

WEll actually they have the 911 system in the cars so they just answer the calls there, talk to themself over the radio and go to the call haha

Their Union allows a person to hold two positions in the same Department? And I would hope the Part-time PO position pays at a higher rate than the dispatcher position.
