Those are most of the LE related bills that are listed. I'm sure a few of them have made the news and articles have been posted elsewhere.

There are some other interesting bills, such as no longer requiring an FID card to purchase pepper spray and it being unlawful to possess a loaded firearm or hunt "on the land of another" within 1000 ft. of a dwelling in use except with the permission of the owner/occupant of dwelling. I found a lot of this stuff interesting. It is likely that a lot of these bills are dead or most likely won't pass, but I thought I would throw it out there.

House no 2312 is trying to require us to wear white gloves while directing traffic. What about our neon glo mittens for the winter.

An Act to prohibit inappropriate language use by sworn law officers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Whereas, the misuse of language of a racial, gender, ethnic, origin or religion nature has frequently led to violent confrontations; and
Whereas, citizens have a God-given inalienable right not to be insulted by public servants whose compensation is provided by tax;
Therefore, regardless to any act to the contrary, this act shall make it unlawful and a violation of oath-of-office for any sworn law officers, i.e., police officers, state police, correctional officers, court officers, environment police, sheriff deputies, or any other sworn law officer to use or engage in the use thereof, during, or in the line of or course of duty language which cast a negative reflection toward an individual’s race, color, ethnic origin, religion, economic status nor any other category of negative stereotyping.
SECTION 2. No racial slurs, name-callings, nor profanity used directed toward another individual shall be used in the course of, during or in the line of duty, and any such use of the same shall constitute a breach of the officer’s sworn oath and shall constitute grounds for dismissal from further duties as a law officer.

Let's hope this language isn't going to apply to paid details only.

Something like 3000 bills get filed each two year session. Probably like 200 total get to be laws. Most of the 200 are "local option" bills like to authorize a specific city to add some alcohol licenses. The chances that any of these bills will even be considered by the legislature is virtually nil. If you look at the bill histories, almost all of them were not even processed by the committees. I wouldn't get too excited about any of them. If one gets favorable "reading" from a committee, which is rare, it then has about a 1 in 100 shot to become law.

I swear, if I see anymore proposed bill about an MBTA/MSP merger I might just throw my hands in the air, grab a tin can and become a deputy sheriff!

Other than perhaps the fee for renting the PO box. Why not just let us use the PD address?
