My Son, My Hero

My oldest son, who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons, has joined the throngs of many soldiers currently serving in the Middle East. His feet touched down in the sands of Iraq just a few days before Thanksgiving (how's that for timing?). He is active duty with the Air Force serving as an EOD specialist and is stationed at Camp Taji, which is just north of Baghdad. Godspeed to him and all the other men and women bravely serving our Great Nation. I love and miss my son dearly.......

His service to our great nation is greatly appreciated.........

Please thank him, from all of us, for his service. A volunteer service is a great privilege we have in this country...were it not for people like your son we wouldn't have that. I pray he comes home safely (and soon)!

Mitpo62.....his service speaks highly of yourself. You apparently raised him instilling honor, duty, country. May God give him the strength to endure to the end of his tour and keep him safe.

Thank you all for your thoughtful, kind words of encouragement and prayers. May all our sons and daughters return safely and soon!

Were all in this together brother.

My prayers to him and to you as a parent. I'm sure you are so proud of him. It's a tough time when a child leaves, especially for these reason. Know that there are many people keeping you in their prayers

My son came back on Saturday. He arrived back at his base in Nevada safe and sound. He will be home here on leave the middle part of next month. He has to undergo a couple of weeks of "downloading" before he is eligible for leave. My thanks to all of you for your kind words and, more importantly, prayers of safekeeping. May all those young men and women come home.....soon!

Posted by: Delta784

Please tell him thank you and welcome home from me.

Posted by: justanotherparatrooper

Same sentiments as Delta....Thanks to you and your son, glad he's home safe.
